Equity and Down Payment Calculator
Enter a price and a loan-to-value percentage. The tool splits that price into a loan amount and the equity that remains.
Equity / down payment
- $375,000
- Loan amount
- $1,125,000
Lenders set their own loan-to-value limits. This split is arithmetic only.
Results use the numbers you enter. They are illustrative, not a loan quote, an appraisal, or a guarantee of investment performance.
Loan amount = price × loan-to-value. Equity is the rest of the price. A lender may require more equity than this illustration.
Seventy-five percent loan-to-value on a $1,500,000 price is a $1,125,000 loan and $375,000 of equity. That equity is not the same as cash you will wire if closing costs sit on top of it.
Owner-user and investment loans often use different limits. The financing article explains why.
